A terrific lithographed tin Easter toy by Chein. A jaunty rabbit, decked out in a straw hat, pulls a cart decorated with various Easter bunny scenes. The back of the cart is marked with Chein’s logo.

Origin: America, ca. 1930. Condition: one back corner of the cart has some bubbling of the finish, but otherwise excellent condition. Size: 11-1/2” long; 7-3/4” tall.

Fun chenille chick in a purple pressed paper Easter Egg. Used as an Easter table decoration, it might also have been used as a candy container for jelly beans or other small candies. Unmarked, probably Japanese, circa 1930's. Great condition, except that some of the paper is unwiding from the wire feet. 2-1/2" tall.

Cute composition Easter chick candy container. The surface is covered lightly with Venetian dew. Unmarked, but probably German, from the late 1940s. Condition: a few nicks on the bill, the top of the head and along the opening in the bottom; the slide bottom is missing. 4-1/4" tall.

Terrific composition Mama Rabbit candy container. Dressed in a blue dress with orange polka dots, Mama carries a wicker basket with a pressed cotton chick in it. Unmarked, but definitely German, circa 1930. Condition: very good, there is a bit of paint flaking on the front of the dress; the wicker basket has a good bit of cracking; the face is especially nice. Size: 6-3/4" tall.

Terrific vintage Christmas ornament fashioned from a papier-mache bell turned into a house. A cotton batting Santa Claus with a composition face is attached to the side. Unmarked, but most likely Japanese. Circa 1930. Very good condition, a little of the paint missing from the hanger and some wear to the "feather" trees. 3-1/2" high.

Great Art Deco figural cocktail shaker in the form of a milk can. The shaker is entirely hand made from soldered sheet copper. A similar shaker in silverplate is pictured in Visakay, but this is the only copper version we've seen. The cork-stoppered lid removes to reveal a removable metal strainer. The bottom is stamped "H.E. Wright Company/Boston, Mass.".

Origin: America, circa 1930. Condition: excellent, no dings or leaks. Size: 11-3/4" tall.

Terrific hard plastic Easter candy container. A cute lamb pulls a card piloted by none other than Donald Duck. Two chicks ride in the card behind Donald. Unmarked, but probably by Rosbro. Circa 1950s. Excellent condition. 8" long, 4-3/4" tall.

Outstanding life-colored German Dresden candy container in the form of a football. This is a terrifically detailed piece with the texture of pigskin, laces, seams, etc. Some of the raised seams have some losses, but otherwise, this piece is in nice condition. One side also has initials painted on it--probably those of the lucky child who first found this hanging on the Christmas tree. Approximately 3" long. Circa 1930s.

Halloween post card featuring a comic couple. The card advises the lady to make sure to prearrange having her boyfriend stand behind her as she looks in the mirror so that the trick works properly Notice the witch watching them from behind!. Marked on reverse "H/Series #1". Unused.

Very nice embossed vintage Halloween postcard featuring a line of girls dressed as ghosts and carrying smoking jack o'lanterns. The colors are bright and fresh. Postmarked (date illegible).

Origin: America, circa 1915. Condition: excellent, sharp corners, no tears or creases. Size: 5-1/2" x 3-1/2".

This is a great example of how the company made parts interchangeable so they could create new items by joining together a seemingly endless selection of rabbits, ducks, roosters, chicks, etc. Circa 1950. Excellent condition, original "grass". 8" long, 7-1/4" tall.

Great hard plastic "Easter Express" candy container/toy. Unmarked, but made by Rosbro. This is a great example of how the company made parts interchangeable so they could create new items by joining together a seemingly endless selection of rabbits, ducks, roosters, chicks, etc. Circa 1950. Excellent condition, there is a crack on the underside by the axle that appears to have happened at the factory, since it is completely secure and shows no signs of regluing. 8" long, 7-1/4" tall.

Delightful set of six napkins and six matching cocktail "booties" featuring hand-embroidered roosters sipping cocktails. The borders have drawn-work borders with contrasting pale blue trim.

Origin: America, circa 1930s. Condition: excellent, a few pulls to the trim that could be left as is or easily repaired by someone with a little sewing skill. Size: napkins, 7-1/2" x 5"; booties, 3" x 3".

Wonderful vintage liquor bottle in the form of “Pere Noel” or Santa Claus. Dressed in a long, Belsnickle-type robe, he carries a huge pack of toys on his back, a doll in one hand and a walking stick in the other. The original paper label around the base says, “Benoit Serres Distilleries Toulouse France Depuis 1841”. The label at the neck, just below the bakelite top, indicates that the original contents was triple sec. The paint is original and shows about 20% loss.

Origin: France, ca. 1930. Condition: very good, no chips or cracks. Size: 12-1/4” tall.

This terrific little German composition candy container, circa 1920's, was made for Abraham Lincoln's birthday--representing the famous frontier log cabin in which he was born. I've never seen this container before and it's in terrific condition. The bottom is marked "Germany." 2-1/8 long; 1-1/2" deep; 1-9/16" tall. Excellent condition.

With its Lincoln's Birthday theme, this would be a terrific addition to your patriotic holiday collection!

Extra-large German Dresden-type papier-mache Easter egg candy container. The chromolithographed paper covering shows a wonderful assortment of roosters, hens, chicks, and of course, Easter rabbits. This is undoubtedly the largest Easter Egg candy container we've seen. The interior is lined with the traditional star patterned paper and the rims have a Dresden border. One end has the original string hanger. Marked "Germany". Circa 1920s. Very good condition, bright colors, about 30% loss of Dresden border. Size: 7-1/2" long, 5" wide.

Vintage composition Easter chick candy container. The pull out bottom is marked "Made US Zone Germany." Terrific color and overall condition (there's a 1/2" paint flake on the top of the head.) 3-7/8" tall. This will be a nice addition to that special Easter basket. Circa 1948

Lovely vintage blown glass Christmas ornament depicting a cornucopia full of bright red roses. The identical ornament is pictured in Johnson, vol. II, p. 111. Germany, circa 1920s. Mint condition. 2-1/2" tall.

Very nice lithographed tin penny toy in the form of a convertible sedan being driven by a chauffeur. The toy is completely original and is marked "Made In Germany". Circa 1930. Excellent condition, very light surface wear. 5" long.

Outstanding composition goose Easter candy container. The neck removes to reveal the opening for the candy. This container is of the highest quality--it has painted metal feet, and a wooden dowel to hold the head in place. Unmarked, but definitely German. Circa 1930. Excellent condition, a little paint rubbing on metal feet. 3-1/4" long, 2-7/8" tall.

Vintage bisque Halloween black cat candy container. The bottom is marked "Made In Japan." Circa 1930. Condition: excellent.

A rare vintage bisque jack o'lanern placecard holder and candy container. A thin slit just above the eyes holds a placecard. This is the only bisque card holder/candy container we've seen.

Great hard plastic Halloween noisemaker in the form of a saxophone. The horn is in working condition. A similar horn is pictured on page 62 of "Halloween Favorites In Plastic". Circa 1940s. Excellent condition. 9-1/2" long.

Very funny Halloween postcard featuring a cow scaring his milkmaid by wearing jack o'lanterns on his horns. The front is marked "Copyright 1909 by Julius Bien & Co., N.Y." Heavily embossed and very nice colors. Postmarked 1910.

Nice good condition, with light rounding at corners, a slight crease in the bottom quarter of the card, and a tiny tear (about 1/16") in one margin.

Handsome handcarved wooden ceremonial mask from Kenya. The mask is carved from a single piece of wood. Excellent condition, the back has a screw attached for hanging on the wall. Circa 1970. 12/1-2" x 5-1/4".

Handpainted garden ornament in the form of Popeye. Painted on three-ply wood with an iron stake, he's ready to stand at attention in your spinach patch!

Colorful hard plastic lollipop holder in the form of a clown on wheels. This piece, intended for either Christmas or Easter, is very difficult to find. Made by Rosbro.

Origin: America, circa 1950. Condition: excellent, no cracks, a little paint wear on the nose, a small scratch on the side of one leg, and discoloration to the glue joining the halves. Size: 6-1/2” tall.

Cute painted cast iron Easter bunny, probably by Hubley. Very nice quality and weight and good painted details. Circa 1920s. Excellent condition, no paint loss. 3" tall.

Fabulous handpainted sheet iron feather tree stand. The Christmas tree stand features three elves contemplating their traditional lucky mushrooms. The elves, one each in blue, red and yellow hooded suits, are seated on little grassy knolls planted with flowers. The painted details are terrific; each elf has completly different facial features than his friends. The center pole is painted green with metallic silver highlights.

Origin: probably Germany, circa 1910. Condition: completely original; 2 screws missing (easily replaced); paint is 95% intact and is very colorful. Size: 15-3/4" diameter; 9-1/4" high; opening for tree is 1-1/4" diameter.
