A fun set of vintage Christmas ornaments depicting circus characters--a ringmaster, a strong man, a clown, an animal trainer, and a pair of flying acrobats. The ornaments are made from canvas and wood enhanced with painted details and fabric clothing.

• Condition: very good, the strongman had a place in the upraised fist that originally held a wooden dumbbell and the clown is missing one wooden hand.

Fantastic hard plastic candy container in the shape of a hen sitting on a nest. Candies are inserted in the hole in the breast. When the tail is moved up and down, the candies are dispensed out of the bottom of the nest. Perfect for egg-shaped jelly beans! Marked "1964 Ideal Toy Corp." Excellent condition. Size: 6" long, 3-1/2" wide, 8" tall.

Vintage Halloween paper party napkins featuring a jack o'lantern scarecrow. Circa late 1960's--early 70s. Excellent condition. Size: 14" x 14".

Vintage Halloween paper party plates. The decoration features a ghost scaring a witch off her broom. The rim is decorated with bats and jack o'lanterns. Circa 1950s-60s. Excellent condition. Size: 6-1/4" x 6-1/4".

Great hard plastic Halloween noisemaker in the form of a saxophone. The horn is in working condition. A similar horn is pictured on page 62 of "Halloween Favorites In Plastic". Circa 1940s. Excellent condition. 9-1/2" long.

Terrific hard plastic Easter candy container. A cute lamb pulls a card piloted by none other than Donald Duck. Two chicks ride in the card behind Donald. Unmarked, but probably by Rosbro. Circa 1950s. Excellent condition. 8" long, 4-3/4" tall.

Great hard plastic "Easter Express" candy container/toy. Unmarked, but made by Rosbro. This is a great example of how the company made parts interchangeable so they could create new items by joining together a seemingly endless selection of rabbits, ducks, roosters, chicks, etc. Circa 1950. Excellent condition, original "grass". 8" long, 7-1/4" tall.

Nice vintage blown glass Christmas ornament in the form of a "Popcorn Head". Condition: about 10% paint loss on high spots on the face, no cracks or chips. Size: 2".

Fun chenille chick in a pink pressed paper Easter Egg. Used as an Easter table decoration, it might also have been used as a candy container for jelly beans or other small candies. Unmarked, probably Japanese, circa 1930's. Great condition, except that some of the paper is unwiding from the wire feet. 2-1/2" tall.

Terrific hard plastic Santa Claus lolipop holder and candy container. This is the rare version on snowshoes instead of the more common skis. Marked "Rosbro Plastics Providence, RI". Excellent condition. 4.5" tall. 1940's--50's

Vintage celluloid windup carousel toy featuring chicks that bob up and down from windows, a bit chick that spins around amid twirling bells and celluloid flowers, all under a pink celluloid canopy. Marked "Japan". Circa 1950. Excellent condition; the canopy droops just a bit, probably from being in a box for too long; windup mechanism works. 7-1/4" tall.

A vintage bisque Halloween candy container in the form of a black cat rubbing up against a jack o'lantern. The porcelain is heavier than many bisque items, suggesting it is of American origin.

An unusual vintage Halloween wooden ratchet noisemaker decorated with a plastic black cat. This is the only old wooden ratchet we've seen with a plastic decoration. The ratchet is stained orange with a green clacker. The cat is marked "Made In Japan."

Nice vintage German Dresden-type papier-mache Easter egg candy container decorated with a bright Easter Bunny scene. The inside is marked "Container Made in Western Germany". Circa 1950's. Excellent condition, a very small spot of wear to the paper on one side near the bunny's right foot and a little wear along rims. 4-1/4" long.

Vintage blown glass accordian Christmas ornament. Two sides of the accordian show the keyboards while the other two sides show the bellows. Germany, 1930s. Excellent silvering and paint. No cracks or chips. 3-1/4" tall.

Colorful hard plastic lollipop holder in the form of a clown on wheels. This piece, intended for either Christmas or Easter, is very difficult to find. Made by Rosbro.

Origin: America, circa 1950. Condition: excellent, no cracks, a little paint wear on the nose, a small scratch on the side of one leg, and discoloration to the glue joining the halves. Size: 6-1/2” tall.

Vintage hard plastic yellow Easter Bunny pull toy by Rosbro. This is the older version of this figure and is on a green and pink wheeled platform. Really nice paint details and excellent condition. Circa 1950. 6-1/4" tall.

Really fun hard plastic Easter Bunny bank. The rabbit is dressed in a baseball uniform, complete with a ball cap. He holds a baseball bat and a ball. Unmarked, but probably by Rosbro. Circa 1950s. Excellent condition. 11-3/4" tall.

Vintage composition Easter chick candy container. The pull out bottom is marked "Made US Zone Germany." Terrific color and overall condition (there's a 1/2" paint flake on the top of the head.) 3-7/8" tall. This will be a nice addition to that special Easter basket. Circa 1948

Cute vintage hard plastic Easter candy container in the form of a bunny pushing a wheelbarrow perfectly sized for jelly beans. The painting is unusually detailed and gives this piece special appeal. Unmarked, but probably made by Rosbro, circa 1950s. Excellent condition; there is a manufacturing flaw on one ear. Size: 3-1/4" long; 4" tall.

Excellent condition, there is a crack on the underside by the axle that appears to have happened at the factory, since it is completely secure and shows no signs of regluing. 8" long, 7-1/4" tall.

Unopened package of 24 vintage Halloween crepe paper cocktail napkins. The smaller cocktail size is bit harder to find than the dinner size. The napkins feature a wonderful border of dancing skeletons, witches, owls, bats and black cats. The edges are scalloped. Circa late 1940s. Condition: excellent. Size: 9" x 9".

The edges are decorated with jack o'lanterns, owls, bats and black cats. Marked "US Metal Toy Mfg. Co. Made In U.S.A." Very nice condition, some scratching where metal clappers hit against pan, very light rust on the unpainted clappers. Circa 1940s. 7-7/8" long.

A very nice vintage pulp Halloween lantern in the shape of a black cat at an orange picket fence. The paper insert is original. The lantern has strong color and a nice shiny glaze on the pulp.

• Condition: original paint, a few small touch-ups, a couple of small tears on the back side, the bottom has a hole cut to insert a candle and the top of the head has a small section cut away to keep from burning.

A very nice pulp "choirboy" Halloween jack o'lantern. The paper insert is original. The pulp has very good color and a nice shiny glaze.

A delightful set of six vintage composition turkey place card holders for the Thanksgiving table. Each turkey is brilliantly decorated in colorful paint including a metallic silver that adds touch of realism to the feathers. Each is stamped "U.S. Zone Germany" indicating they were made between 1945 and 1952.

A delightful vintage Halloween bisque figure in the form of a broom-carrying witch and her black cat. Items such as this were used as table decorations, but it’s also possible that they were filled with small candies through the hole in the bottom, then sealed with paper and given as party favors. The witch, with her pasty complexion, gaping mouth, and crossed eyes really looks more like a space alien than a traditional witch. Only her broom and black cat betray her true nature!

A set of three vintage bisque candy containers in the form of a basket and a black cat with a Halloween orange neck ribbon. These would have been filled with small candies and given as party favors. The bottoms are stamped "Japan."

Terrific vintage Santa Clause figure with composition face and boots, felt and satin costume, standing on a mica-covered base. The is a nice example in a good size. Japan, circa 1930. 7" tall. Excellent condition, a little bending to the cardboard base.

Vintage blown glass bead Christmas garland comprised of elongated fuchsia beads. The garland retains its original "Made In Japan" tag. Excellent condition. 5 feet long. Circa 1930.

Vintage American pulp Halloween jack o'lantern with the original paper face insert. Near mint condition. 5-1/2" tall (not including handle).

Wonderful vintage liquor bottle in the form of “Pere Noel” or Santa Claus. Dressed in a long, Belsnickle-type robe, he carries a huge pack of toys on his back, a doll in one hand and a walking stick in the other. The original paper label around the base says, “Benoit Serres Distilleries Toulouse France Depuis 1841”. The label at the neck, just below the bakelite top, indicates that the original contents was triple sec. The paint is original and shows about 20% loss.

Origin: France, ca. 1930. Condition: very good, no chips or cracks. Size: 12-1/4” tall.

Cute painted cast iron Easter bunny, probably by Hubley. Very nice quality and weight and good painted details. Circa 1920s. Excellent condition, no paint loss. 3" tall.

Super vintage celluloid and chenille Easter rooster decoration. This rooster is very colorful in his spiffy suit and black tophat. He is attached to his original chenille stick and makes a nice Easter decoration. Circa 1930. Size: rooster only, 2-1/2" tall. Mint condition.

Outstanding life-colored German Dresden candy container in the form of a football. This is a terrifically detailed piece with the texture of pigskin, laces, seams, etc. Some of the raised seams have some losses, but otherwise, this piece is in nice condition. One side also has initials painted on it--probably those of the lucky child who first found this hanging on the Christmas tree. Approximately 3" long. Circa 1930s.

Extra nice and extra-large vintage fancy blown glass indent Christmas ornament. The front and back of the teardrop have colorful indents and the sides are painted with a grapevise motif. The cap is marked "Germany". 7" long. Excellent condition.
